Synopsis

The rumour mill of Olympus never stops turning, and Persephone and Hades are the story on everyone's lips. Feeling the weight of the gossip, the two agree to slow their budding romance down and untangle their own lives first — but that proves far easier said than done. Hades finds little support from those around him, from a dismissive Zeus to the increasingly toxic Minthe, and struggles to set healthier boundaries even as loneliness gnaws at him. Persephone, shunned by her classmates and hounded at home by Apollo's unwelcome attentions, feels just as adrift.

And when Ares returns to Olympus, threatening to drag Persephone's carefully hidden past into the light, the fragile life she has built begins to wobble. Despite their promise to take things slowly, fate keeps pulling Persephone and Hades back toward one another.

The fourth volume of Rachel Smythe's Eisner-winning webcomic collects further chapters of Lore Olympus, a lush, modern reimagining of the myth of Hades and Persephone rendered in Smythe's unmistakable, colour-saturated art.
