Synopsis

Llana of Gathol is a collection of four adventure stories by Edgar Rice Burroughs set in the Barsoom universe, the second-to-last book in his Mars series. The stories follow John Carter's granddaughter, Llana, as she is pursued and rescued across the dangerous lands of Barsoom. Each tale escalates in peril and scale, escalating from the hypnotic clutches of an ancient sorcerer to the hidden realms of the invisible and the frozen. The collection is known for its adventurous spirit and the whimsical humor that marked Burroughs's later work, and it is considered one of his most entertaining and imaginative entries in the series.
