The world that Westerfeld created in Leviathan was quite interesting and drew me in rather quickly. The Steampunk elements were definitely what sparked my interest. However, I did not find his characters nearly as charming and the cliff hanger ending was more than frustrating. Will I read the next one in the series? Yes, I probably will. Maybe he will have figured out how to make his characters more human by then. If not, the basic idea of the series is marvelous and I loved reading about how the airships and walkers operated. That alone was intriguing enough to leave me wanting more.
