Synopsis

In the quiet village of Timpelbach, all the adults mysteriously vanish overnight, leaving the children to fend for themselves. Chaos quickly ensues as two rival gangs form, each vying for control and resources. Amidst the disorder, a few brave children attempt to restore order and uncover the truth behind their parents' disappearance.

Henry Winterfeld, born April 9, 1901, was a German writer and artist famous for his children's and young adult novels. His works were published under the pseudonym Manfred Michael. Being Jewish, he emigrated during World War II to the U.S. in 1940 and lived there until his death.
