Synopsis

Meneka is an apsara, a celestial dancer whose gift is manipulating the desires of the mortals she's sent to seduce on behalf of Indra, lord of heaven. She longs to be free of these missions and stay in heaven for good. When a powerful mortal sage offends Indra, Meneka strikes a bargain: end the sage, and she'll never be sent on another mission again. But the sage, Kaushika, captivates her with his energy and empathy, and Meneka can't tell anymore whether she's seducing him or he's seducing her. As war brews in the heavens, Meneka must choose between her duty to protect her home and the man teaching her what love actually means. Kritika H. Rao opens The Divine Dancers duology with a spicy romantasy reimagining of the Hindu myth of Meneka and Vishwamitra.
