Synopsis

Set in the mountains of Lebanon during the 1880s, this novel tells the legend of Tanios, an illegitimate son of a powerful sheik whose life was marked by chaos. After his adopted father's actions force them to flee, Tanios becomes entangled with international spies and politicians, acting as an intermediary between European and Middle Eastern powers.
