Synopsis

The illegitimate son of the late King Henri IV arrives in Paris and is drawn into Cardinal Richelieu's plots against the Queen and the King's brother, while falling in love with one of the Queen's ladies-in-waiting. Dumas left the story unfinished at his death; this edition completes it with a later novella.
