Last Time I Saw You

Dr. Kate English seems to have everything: an inherited fortune, a handsome husband, a daughter, a demanding career and a house people envy. Then her mother, Lily, is found brutally murdered in her own home.

Kate, grieving and shaken, calls Blaire Barrington, her best friend from years back and now estranged. Blaire comes straight to her for the funeral, and the long gap between them closes at once. That evening a text arrives from an anonymous sender, threatening Kate with something worse than the loss she has just suffered.

Blaire takes the hunt for Lily's killer into her own hands. In Baltimore high society, her relentless and accusatory questions turn up infidelity, lies and betrayals, and they push away Kate's friends and relatives as tension builds around the family.

This is a psychological thriller built around a whodunit. The killer could be a friend, a neighbor or someone Kate loves, and the threat suggests she is the next target. Expect a suspicious, close-quarters mood where nearly every character is a possible suspect.
