Last Dragon of the East

Sai runs his family's teahouse and cares for his ailing mother, using his rare ability to see the red threads of fate between soulmates as a side career in matchmaking. His own thread is gray and frayed, so he's given up on his own love story, until a pair of shining dragon scales miraculously cure his mother's illness and draw the emperor's dangerous attention.
