Las Que No Duermen NASH (Novela Negra) / Those Who Don't Sleep NASH
"Las Que No Duermen NASH" is a novela negra by Spanish author Dolores Redondo, published in November 2024 as part of her "Valles Tranquilos" series. It follows forensic psychologist Nash Elizondo, known to the press as "the psychologist of the dead," as she travels to a remote cave in Navarra to investigate a local legend about a witch.
During the expedition, Nash instead uncovers the remains of Andrea, a young woman who disappeared three years earlier — a case for which another woman is already serving a prison sentence. The unexpected find forces investigators to reopen a case everyone believed closed, and the inquiry proceeds on two fronts at once: forensic science, and Nash's psychological reading of everyone the case touches, set against the valley's older, ancestral mysteries.
Redondo, best known for the Baztán Trilogy that helped define "mystic noir" in Spanish-language crime fiction, returns to a similarly haunted rural setting for this entry in the Valles Tranquilos universe.
