Lady Tremaine is a historical fiction/ fairytale retelling. Lady Ethel is a widow, raising her twin daughters, Rosalind (Rosie) & Matilda and her stepdaughter, Ellen. Then one day, the royal messenger made an early morning unexpected visit with an invitation to a royal ball, not any regular royal ball, rumors had it the prince was looking for a wife or was he?
While it started off a little slower than I like, I quickly got hooked into this audiobook. I found myself so engrossed that I replayed a couple parts, more than once thinking I missed something when the plot twist came, and I will say, that was something I never expected. The narrator, Bessie Carter, done a wonderful job throughout this audio. It flowed very smoothly and was perfect. Whether you read or listen to this book, if you enjoy fairy tale retellings, this is a perfect one for those Cinderella lovers.
