Synopsis

After witnessing the miracle of childbirth, self-determined spinster Miss Penelope Crone has second thoughts about swearing off marriage; suddenly she needs to experience the "blessed event" for herself. Hugh Chesterton, Viscount Danbury, is intelligent, handsome, unmarried, and conveniently close at hand. With a little décolletage, a sway of the hips, and a few glasses of brandy, Penelope sets out to extract a respectable offer from him, one way or another. Book four in Annabelle Anders's Lord Love a Lady series, where every lady has a past and every gentleman a secret, and it reads perfectly well as a standalone Regency romp.
