Synopsis

In 1672 Holland, amidst political upheaval and the tragic massacre of the de Witt brothers, young Cornélius van Baerle is falsely accused of treason and imprisoned. From his cell, he dedicates himself to cultivating the elusive black tulip, a pursuit that promises a grand prize. As his passion for horticulture grows, he finds himself drawn into a forbidden romance with Rosa, his jailer's daughter, intertwining his quest for the perfect flower with a fight for love and freedom.
