Krondor: Tear of the Gods

Krondor: The Betrayal is the first novel in Raymond E. Feist's Riftwar Legacy, set in the sprawling Kingdom of the Isles. When Gorath, a moredhel who has defected from his own kind, brings news that the Nighthawks have begun killing again and that a cabal of six powerful sorcerers known as the Six are orchestrating a plot to destroy the realm, the kingdom's leaders must act. Alongside the skilled knights James and Locklear, a young and inexperienced magician named Owyn must learn to defend the realm under the guidance of his mentor Pug. As a Tsurani invasion looms and a sinister plot to steal the Lifestone unfolds, the characters must unite against a threat that could bring the kingdom to its knees. Rich in world-building and a tense, atmospheric plot, Krondor: The Betrayal is a classic of the high-fantasy genre.
