Synopsis

Emma travels to Dorset to research Thomas Hardy, but finds herself unexpectedly looking after three children while their mother is in the hospital. While she enjoys the change of pace, the children's uncle, Ross, is a constant source of disapproval. Emma must navigate her growing feelings for Ross and uncover the secrets of the seemingly happy Hart family.

Sheila Ann Mary Coates was born on 1937 in Essex, England, just before the Second World War in the East End of London. As a child, she was moved from relative to relative to escape the bombings of World War II. Sheila attended the Ursuline Convent for Girls.
