Synopsis

When her mother calls and tells her to come home, Vera obeys — even though home means the notorious Crowder House, built by her serial-killer father and still holding the bodies he buried beneath its foundations. Her homecoming is complicated further by an artist who has moved into the guest house and is slowly cannibalizing her childhood for material, insisting he isn't the one leaving notes written in her father's handwriting.

Sarah Gailey builds a gothic thriller around inherited guilt and complicated love, forcing Vera to confront exactly how deep her family's rot runs.
