Synopsis

Laura is a lifestyle reporter, and a hopeless romantic. Her parents fell in love on the island of Jersey, and she is retracing their story for a magazine piece. At the airport, a flustered moment with a handsome stranger leaves her with the wrong suitcase.

Inside it she finds a well-worn novel, sheet music and a fisherman's sweater. She decides the owner must be her match, the man she is meant to end up with. To find him, she hires Ted, a gruff local taxi driver, while she works on her article about her parents' romance.

Ted's own father, Gerry, is managing Parkinson's. The island's small community pulls Laura in as her search for the suitcase's owner goes nowhere. The harder she chases a stranger she has never met, the more she leans on the driver already beside her.

Just Haven't Met You Yet is a contemporary romantic comedy. It weighs one fated encounter against an ordinary one, built slowly instead. Cousens keeps the tone light and hopeful, trading a storybook meeting for a slower, funnier route to the same kind of ending.
