Synopsis

Maia, an orphaned English girl, is sent to live with her distant relatives, the Carters, deep in the Amazon rainforest. She quickly discovers her new guardians are cruel and selfish, far from the kind family she imagined. With the help of an eccentric governess and a mysterious boy who lives by the river, Maia must navigate the challenges of her new life and uncover the secrets of the Amazon.
