Journal du voleur

Jean Genet's semi-autobiographical novel follows a young man's journey across 1930s Europe. Living in destitution and surviving through petty crime and prostitution, he drifts through various cities and encounters a cast of criminals and outcasts. This is a raw and unflinching look at a life lived on the fringes of society.
