Synopsis

Jane Steele, a gothic retelling of Jane Eyre, follows a heroine who, like her literary counterpart, endures cruelty but with a darker edge. Accused of wickedness, Jane flees after her tormentors die, becoming a fugitive who rights wrongs in London's underbelly. When an advertisement for a governess at Highgate House catches her eye, she returns to investigate her claim as the true heir. There, she falls for the mysterious Charles Thornfield, facing a terrible choice: can she claim him and her inheritance while keeping her murderous past a secret?
