Jailed for life for being black

Jailed for life for being black
Synopsis
Rubin Carter, a professional boxer, was wrongly convicted of a triple murder in 1966, a conviction rooted in racism. He spent nearly two decades in prison, maintaining his innocence. His story caught the attention of a Brooklyn teenager, Lesra Martin, who, along with a team of Canadian and New York lawyers, worked to overturn the unjust verdict. In 1985, Carter was finally released, and he dedicated the rest of his life to helping others who were wrongfully convicted.
