This book would have been a 3 star book however the characters are not lovable. There is one character in the book that is the epitome of the type of characters I hate. It is the type of character that knows there is risk but insists that they are above it or that they can avoid it. They do foolish things and then they are gobsmacked at the fact that the risk they were aware that could happen happened. The other characters aren't so bad, The main character has redeeming qualities and the accompanied character also has redeeming qualities. As for the overall writing I think the author was able to write somewhat of a good story It gave me some of that adventure and mystery that you wanted the whodunit essentially but I wanted more.
