In the midst of winter

During a blizzard in Brooklyn, professor Richard Bowmaster accidentally hits the car of Evelyn Ortega, an undocumented Guatemalan woman. What begins as a minor accident spirals into something far more profound when Evelyn reveals she has discovered a body hidden in the trunk of her employer's vehicle. Joined by his Chilean tenant Lucia Maraz, Richard sets out to help Evelyn uncover the truth behind the murder and find safety — while all three women are forced to confront their own buried traumas along the way.
