Synopsis

Hernán Díaz is an Argentine-American writer born in Buenos Aires in 1973. At age two his family fled to Sweden after Argentina's 1976 military coup, returning when democracy was restored in 1983. He earned a PhD in comparative literature from New York University and is associate director of the Hispanic Institute at Columbia University. His debut novel, In the Distance (2017), was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and the PEN/Faulkner Award and won the William Saroyan International Prize. His se...
