Synopsis

Imogen Scott is her high school's most devoted straight ally. She never misses a Pride Alliance meeting, and she has two queer best friends of her own. In a few months she graduates, then heads to the college her childhood best friend Lili already attends. Lili came out as pansexual there.

On a spring break visit to campus, Imogen learns that Lili has told her new friends the two of them used to date. Nobody in the group knows Imogen is straight. Rather than correct the story, Imogen plays along and lets herself pass as bisexual for the weekend.

Keeping up the act gets complicated once Lili's friend Tessa starts paying attention to her. Imogen's feelings for Tessa are real. They leave her questioning a sexuality she had never thought to doubt. At the same time, she has to decide how much of the fake dating history to admit.

Becky Albertalli, author of Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, called this her most personal book. It became a New York Times bestseller and a 2024 Stonewall Honor Book for young adult literature.
