This is such an interesting and unique sci-fi trilogy. I've loved all the books in this series, but if I had to name a favourite, this would be it. Each book has been told from the three sexual genders of the Oankali. The first one was from a female POV, the second one from a male one, and the third one from an ooloi. I think this is the first time that a character has been so closed to what I would like to be: a construct ooloi like Jodahs. It has no sexual organs and can change between a female and a male appearance at will. Octavia E. Butler was such a visionary! It's a shame she didn't get to live up to now when we have a wider vocabulary around sexual and gender identification.
