Letting go of her ex-husband is proving harder than wedding-dress designer Jenny Tate expected, not least because Owen's new wife, Ana-Sofia, is determined to be Jenny's new best friend. Sensing this is not helping her achieve closure, Jenny trades the Manhattan skyline for her hometown up the Hudson, where she plans to start her own business, bask in her sister Rachel's picture-perfect family life, and perhaps find a little romance with Leo, her irresistible and annoyingly distant downstairs neighbour.

Rachel's idyllic marriage, however, is imploding: she has discovered her husband sexting a colleague. She always thought she would simply walk away in that situation, but her triplet daughters have her reconsidering, much to Jenny's surprise.

When Rachel points to their parents' marriage as a model of patience and forgiveness, Jenny is left with a choice — protect her sister by tarnishing that memory and revealing a family secret she has kept since childhood, or stay silent.
