Okay, I was really close to skipping this one because Szaro’s appearance was a little too strange for me; however, I’m glad I didn’t because I liked this one even more than the first.
I like how Regine continued the series in a completely different way. It's still a marriage of convenience, but the circumstances, the world, and the characters are really contrasting. There’s a lot more action. Serena and Szaro were badass hunters but also nature lovers, and their romance developed through these shared experiences; like in I Married a Lizardman, the author made the story believable.
That being said, I’m gonna be 100% honest and admit that I picture Szaro’s upper body way differently from the cover, because his head is too snake-like for me, so I might have done a Pinterest search of “naga” and grabbed the one I liked the most, which is not how he is described.
