How to Get a Girlfriend

Trillin is not technically a person. She is a small piece of consciousness that has broken away from the Endless, an all-devouring entity, and she is fated to be absorbed back into it one day. Then a human witch wanders into her world, and Trillin has a reason to work out who she is.

Sian is a witch and a scientist. Her portals misfire more often than they work, but she is certain that big magical discoveries are close. Reaching the Endless's dimension without being eaten on sight is a triumph, and she sets out to explore all of it, strictly for research.

Trillin keeps turning up, shape-shifting through different tentacled forms as she tries to flirt. Sian insists this has nothing to do with her curiosity.

Trillin's home is dangerous. Protecting Sian could draw the Endless's attention, and if it notices, it will swallow Trillin and every hope she has of becoming human. The two have to get out of its reach and settle how many appendages work best.

A sapphic cozy fantasy romance between a witch and a Cthulhu-style monster, it keeps a light comic tone and promises a happy ending. The open question is whether the two can slip away from the Endless and find love.
