Synopsis

In the cheerful village of Whoville, Christmas is a cherished holiday. But high above, in a cave on Mount Crumpit, lives the Grinch, a creature whose heart is two sizes too small. He despises Christmas and all its joyous traditions, hatching a wicked plan to steal the holiday itself. Will the Grinch succeed in his scheme, or will the spirit of Christmas prove stronger than his bitter heart?

Theodor Seuss Geisel was born on March 2, 1904, in Springfield, Massachusetts, to German-American parents. He attended public schools and then went to Dartmouth College, where he became editor of the Dartmouth _Jack-O-Lantern_. When he was barred from all extracurricular activities, he continued to write for the paper using the pseudonym "Seuss."
