Synopsis

House of War and Bone is the second book in Leia Stone's Gilded City trilogy, following House of Ash and Shadow. The series is set in a fae-run city where a half-human heroine is bound to a powerful fae lord, and where the noble houses circle each other with old grudges and colder motives.

The alliance that closed the first book is tested here. Loyalties are re-drawn, the political pressure between the houses hardens into something closer to war, and the romance moves from antagonism into something the characters can no longer explain away.

Stone writes fast, high-heat romantasy: short chapters, a heroine coming into her own power, and a fae world built for momentum rather than for maps. The trilogy concludes with House of Light and Ether.
