Honeys
Mars comes back to Aspen Conservancy, the summer camp where his twin sister Caroline died, determined to learn what nobody will tell him. He was always the quieter twin, watching Caroline shine. Now he wants to know what changed in the weeks before she died. The trail leads to the Honeys, a guarded clique who tended the camp's beehives, and Caroline was one of their own.
Mars talks his way into the apiary to get close to them, and the camp's polish starts to slip. Hours go missing, people who were there a moment ago are not, and something moves through the woods in broad daylight. Aspen, built on folksy charm and old rules about its girls, starts to look like a trap for anyone who does not fit.
This is horror built on grief and unease more than gore. Mars is gender-fluid, and Aspen keeps trying to sort him into a role he never agreed to. The mystery tightens as he gets nearer the Honeys, and nearer to whatever fed on Caroline first.
A paranormal thriller for readers who want a slow burn and a narrator worth staying with, more than a body count.
