I fear this book has permanently altered my standards for romcoms. Like THIS is what I want when I say I want a romance that is actually FUN. I think Honey and Spice might genuinely be my new obsession and, honestly, my blueprint for what I want from a romcom going forward.
Their banter and their chemistry was so so good I was having SUCH a good time. Kiki and Malakai are exactly the kind of pairing I want in a romance: two people who are genuinely interesting on their own, but who become ten times more entertaining when they’re together. Their interactions had me giggling at my screen like an idiot. Honestly, I don’t think I have anything negative to say about this book because I had a good time reading it. This is exactly what I want a romcom to be: genuinely funny, ridiculously charming, with characters I actually care about and a romance that makes me want to kick my feet.
So yeah, Honey and Spice has officially become my romcom blueprint. If a book doesn’t give me this level of banter, chemistry, and sheer enjoyment from now on, I don’t want it. Five stars, new obsession, and unfortunately for every other romcom on my TBR, the bar is now somewhere in the stratosphere.
