Homunculus (Omnibus) Vol. 1-2

Nakoshi Susumu, a homeless man living out of his car, agrees to an experimental and unlicensed trepanation procedure — drilling into the skull to unlock a "sixth sense" — after a persistent medical student's offer wears him down. The operation seems to have failed until Nakoshi notices his left eye has changed: it now reveals a twisted homunculus hidden inside everyone he looks at, exposing their innermost psychological state.

As he learns to interpret what his altered vision shows him, Nakoshi is drawn into the lives of the people around him, and into confrontations that force him to face his own suppressed past. A slow-building psychological horror manga from the creator of Ichi the Killer, told through mounting unease rather than shock-driven violence.

This omnibus collects volumes 1 and 2. It is intended for mature readers: content includes self-harm, sexual themes, and other disturbing psychological material.
