Synopsis

Genevieve McInnis has spent years as the prisoner of a cruel laird at McHugh Keep, made to bear scars that mark her as ruined in the eyes of her own clan. When Highland warrior Bowen Montgomery seizes the keep in an act of clan warfare, he finds not the enemy he expected but a woman whose spirit remains unbroken despite everything done to her.

Unwilling to return home in shame or abandon the people still sheltering within the keep's walls, Genevieve resolves to give up any hope of love and live out her days as an abbess. But Bowen's rugged patience and quiet regard reach the parts of her that captivity tried to destroy, awakening a longing she believed was gone for good.

For Bowen, loving Genevieve means giving her back the one thing that was stolen from her: the freedom to choose her own path — even if that choice means losing her. Highlander Most Wanted is the second book in Maya Banks's Montgomerys and Armstrongs series of Scottish Highland romances.
