Here for the Cake
Paisley Royce spends a week on a beach island that ought to be a holiday and feels like a sentence. Her younger sister is getting married there, the groom is Paisley's own college boyfriend, and she is the maid of honor. Relatives keep pointing out that she is still single.
Klein Madigan turns up as a guest from her past. He was her rival in college, and one bad kiss back then settled the matter for good. He is now an aspiring author who stays away from social media, and Paisley notices, to her annoyance, that he looks better than she remembers.
They strike a deal that suits them both. Paisley works at a marketing agency, and she will promote Klein's book if he plays her boyfriend until the wedding is over. Everyone around them believes the act without question.
This is a fake-dating romantic comedy set over a single wedding week, with a confined setting and an old grudge between two people who keep running into each other. As the days pass, the two begin to suspect they are the ones being fooled, with no way to leave before the ceremony.
