This book… just wow.
I am the child of a “former” addict myself so the beginning definitely hit me hard. The big thing though that I’m not really sure I liked was the excuses that were made for Samson. Like ok yeah the dude went through a lot of crap, but that doesn’t excuse breaking the law. Whether he did certain things for “good” reasons or not. And Beyah still took him back. He lied to her about damn near EVERYTHING and she took him back. That would be a deal breaker for me.
I kinda wish CoHo had dug a little deeper into Beyah’s life in college, too.
Other than those two things, another very enjoyable CoHo novel.
