His unlikely friendship with Scorpius Malfoy, Draco's gentle and bookish son, provides the story's emotional centre: two boys from the wrong houses finding solidarity in their shared experience of being defined by their fathers.\n\nWhen Albus and Scorpius stumble upon a time-turner and attempt to change a moment from the past they consider a mistake, their interference produces consequences far worse than anything they intended — and forces Harry to confront the dimensions of his own legacy that remain unresolved.\n\nThe script was developed by playwright Jack Thorne from an original story by Thorne, John Tiffany, and J.K. Rowling. The play premiered at the Palace Theatre in London in July 2016, initially in two parts on the same day or on consecutive evenings, and went on to win a record nine Olivier Awards in 2017 including Best New Play — the most won by any production at a single ceremony. Little did I know that I was up for a major disappointment, and here's why: \n\n- The writing: I still have no idea how i managed to get through the first part. At first, I was eager to read the script. I thought it would be interesting to try and figure out the inner-workings of the characters instead of having them delivered on a silver platter, unfortunately the dialogue was plain and lifeless. \n\n- The characters: we get a glimpse of some of the old characters (Neville, moaning myrtle..). As to our dearly beloved trio: Harry, Hermione and Ron, they kept hanging to their original personalities by a thread which made me feel detached from the book as a whole (Except for Draco, fidèle à lui même). As to the new characters: Delphi, seriously? Albus, Meh. Scorpius: see below. \n\n- The plot: waaaay too far-fetched. It's as if Jack Thorne took all the main highlights of the HP series and mashed them together aiming for a spectacular jaw-dropping outcome, instead it fired back, badly. (No spoilers, you'll see for yourself) \n\n- Harry's dreams \u002F portrait-Dumbledore... what was that all about? Hein? Hein? HEIN? \n\nSpecial mention: Scorpius Malfoy. Awesome. Loved every bit of him. \n\nAll in all: this read like a poorly written WTF-fanfiction, and I most definitely don't consider it as a follow-up to the Deathly Hallows. But hey, it sure is always good to read something even remotely close to the fictional world I've been brought up in (virtually :p ) \n\nMy Potter craze lays to rest. I can't say anything substantial about this book because it will be considered a spoiler, this story answers several ''what ifs'' the fans had when they read the original series, it is also written like an official fanfiction, it fills some story gaps, does a recapitulation of the 7 books, pretty nice plot twists and secrets.
