Synopsis

After a fall leaves her with a broken ankle and a promise to move in with her son's family in California, recent widow Harriet Beamer decides to do things her own way. Insisting on traveling cross-country solely by public transportation, Harriet embarks on an unexpected journey by train, bus, ferry, and even motorcycle. Along the way, she discovers that her family's plans for her retirement might not align with a different, more adventurous path God has in store.
