Synopsis
Nathan is seventeen and lives in present-day England, where two warring factions of witches share the country with humans. He is an abomination to both sides: the illegitimate son of the most powerful and violent witch in the world. Nowhere is safe for him, and he has no one he can fully trust.
His own magical Gift has now come into its own, and he is on the run. The Hunters are close behind. They want Nathan captured and his father destroyed, and they will not stop until they have managed both.
The book is a fantasy with a modern setting, told around a young outsider who is despised for his mixed witch heritage. A warning attached to the Gift hangs over him: the way he uses his power will show whether he is good or bad. The story is built around pursuit, so the tension comes from a constant sense of being hunted.
The content includes profanity, sexual references and violence, so it suits older teen and adult readers. It is the second book in its series.
