Synopsis

Guardians of the Galaxy by Al Ewing, Vol. 1: Then It's Us launches a bold new era for Marvel's cosmic misfits, collecting the first five issues of the 2020 ongoing series. Writer Al Ewing takes the reins after the team's apparent destruction, rebuilding the Guardians from the ground up with one of the largest and most eclectic rosters the franchise has seen.

Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Nova, Moondragon, Phyla-Vell, Marvel Boy, and Hercules are among those drawn together when the gods of Olympus turn against the universe and a familiar cosmic threat re-emerges. What begins as a scattered group of survivors slowly becomes a genuine, if fractious, found family forced to define what the Guardians stand for.

With art by Juan Cabal and others, Ewing balances character-driven drama, sharp humor, and grand space opera. Widely praised by critics and fans, this opening volume set the tone for a run that became a defining modern take on Marvel's cosmic corner.
