Christopher L. Bennett is an American science fiction author. He has written several tie-in novels and short stories in the Star Trek and Marvel Comics franchises starting in 2003, as well as his first original novel in 2012 and several original stories for Analog Science Fiction and Fact and other magazines. He lives in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Synopsis
The USS Rhea discovers mysterious quantum energies emanating from a cluster of carbon planets, where a landing party encounters unusual life-forms. Their mission takes a terrifying turn when a Borg-controlled Starfleet vessel attacks, assimilating the crew. Lieutenant T'Ryssa Chen is whisked away by the planet's inhabitants, who possess quantum slipstream technology, just as the Borg descend. Now, Captain Picard must prevent the Borg from gaining this powerful technology, even if it means destroying a Starfleet ship.
