Synopsis

Just after the Second World War, the detective Kosuke Kindaichi travels to remote, forbidding Gokumon Island to deliver terrible news: a comrade — the heir of one of the island's leading families — has died aboard a returning troop ship, and with his final breath he warned that his three step-sisters were now in danger. Kindaichi's arrival is met with suspicion by the clannish islanders, and soon the sisters begin to die one by one, each killing staged after a classic Japanese haiku. An eerie, ingenious honkaku mystery from the creator of Kosuke Kindaichi.
