Peter Straub (1943-2022) was an American novelist and poet who wrote horror and supernatural fiction with a literary bent. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he studied at the University of Wisconsin and Columbia University and broke through with Julia (1975) and Ghost Story (1979).
