After two years of battling feral dogs and a lack of beer on Tarawa, Maarten Troost finds himself surprisingly out of place back in America. He and his wife, Sylvia, soon pack their bags for Vanuatu, a rugged island cluster where kava flows freely and 'eating the man' is still a local custom.
