Synopsis

The SS Arcadia disappeared without explanation during a routine voyage, leaving only a garbled distress call behind. Sixty years later, its wreck is discovered more than three hundred miles from its course, resting silent on the floor of the Baltic Sea. Documentary filmmaker Cove Waimarie assembles a diverse dive team to descend to the Arcadia, film the wreck, and finally solve the mystery of what happened to its crew.

But the Arcadia has not had its fill of death. As Cove and her divers move deeper into the flooded, groaning hull—oxygen dwindling, the wreck seeming to close around them—something dark and patient stirs. Interwoven with a countdown through the ship's final, maddening days in 1928, Darcy Coates's From Below is a relentlessly claustrophobic underwater horror about the terror of the deep and the things that wait in it.
