Forest of the Forbidden

Forest of the Forbidden collects six independent paranormal romance novellas originally released as a promotional bundle by a group of self-published YA authors. The stories don't share a continuity, but they share a shape: a teenage girl relocates, uncovers a secret, and gets pulled into a hidden supernatural world she wasn't prepared for.

W.J. May's "Seventh Mark" follows Rouge, who inherits an ancestral secret tied to a mysterious mark and a forbidden bond with Michael. Kaitlyn Davis's "The Shadow Soul" follows Jinji, who disguises herself as a boy to travel with a prince hunting foreign invaders, both of them hiding magic of their own. Kristen Middleton's "Venom" sends Chelsey into a vampire-run nightclub to find her missing cousin. Chrissy Peebles's "Crush" follows Taylor as she falls for a boy who may not be human. CM Doporto's "Element" follows a college freshman whose body changes after volunteering for a pharmaceutical trial. Samantha Long's "Awakening" follows Sophie as she's pulled into a secret society fighting demons.

Each novella is the opening chapter of its author's own separate series.
