This book ended up being much better than I thought it would. The writing style is rather juvenile, and there's not quite enough description - especially of actions - but it's relatively easy to follow. The main character, Elena, is likable and relatable; she isn't good at everything instantly and needs tutors to get through her classes. Her friends, Becky and Sam, I didn't like so much. They were a bit bratty and rude, but were still very believable.
The world the author built here was amazing. It was easy to get lost in it, and the author did a great jo of not giving us everything too soon, but letting us find out as the story progressed.
