Synopsis

Fire Sorcerer opens David J. Normoyle's YA urban fantasy series The Sentinels. Rune Russell has spent years keeping his elemental power hidden after a first, uncontrolled use of it burned down a mansion. When a fire elemental crosses into the human world and possesses his friend Jo, consuming her from within, Rune has no choice but to draw on his abilities again to try to save her.

His decision puts him in the path of a sorcerer and a gang of werebeasts who are also hunting the elemental, each for their own reasons. Set in the fictional city of Lusteer and told in first person over the course of four fast-moving days, the novel follows Rune as he's pulled deeper into a supernatural conflict he can no longer avoid.

It's the first of five books in The Sentinels series.
