Synopsis

Charlie's parents' butterfly farm in the small town of Hazelwood, Tennessee, is the most beautiful place she knows — right up until it's on the verge of financial collapse. Forced to abandon her studies, she comes home to help save it, only to find her father has hired Nate, a new worker with a criminal record, to help around the farm.

Charlie and Nate can barely stand each other at first, but the forced proximity of working the farm together wears down their defenses, and an undeniable attraction starts to grow between them. As they get closer, Nate's past comes back into the picture, testing whether Charlie can trust him — and whether he can trust himself.

The opening book in Ann-Kathrin Falkenberg's Tennessee Dreams series, blending small-town romance with a slow-burn grumpy/sunshine dynamic.
